See What Happens if You Give Up Sugar for 3 Days

Almost all of us have thought about going on a diet at one time or another. For some it’s just a passing desire to shed a few pounds before a party; for others, losing weight is a struggle that lasts many years. However, one Swedish doctor,  Andreas Eenfeldt, has suggested it’s time to stop believing in myths about food and listen to the signals your body sends you.

As is well known, we get energy from two different sources:

  • from carbohydrates, which includes sugar;
  • from fat.

For many years we’ve been told that fat is bad and that the only way to get thin is to eat low-fat products and celery. However, giving up sugar rather than fat is worth paying much more attention to. If you do, something very interesting will happen:

  • Once you’ve stopped worrying about consuming fat (in reasonable quantities) and given up sugar, you’ll be able to stay slim on a permanent basis, and as a bonus you’ll have overall better health, more energy, and great skin and hair.

  • You’ll no longer feel the need to check the calorie intake for everything you’re buying. Yet your waist will be the first thing to decrease in size.

If you give up sugar for as little as three days, you’ll soon notice a new feeling of satiety, and consequently you’ll feel satisfied despite eating less food. Many people who try this say they no longer want to eat a large supper and don’t even think about food until the next day’s breakfast.

A rough three-day menu

Breakfast :

  • Scrambled eggs with ham, bacon or avocado
  • Boiled eggs with tomatoes and spinach
  • Cottage cheese (no less than 5% fat) with berries
  • Pancakes made with almond flour
  • A salad with green vegetables and olives

Lunch:

  • Meat or fish dishes: with vegetables (excluding carbohydrates like rice, pasta)
  • Soups (excluding the carbs, apart from potato and beans)
  • Salads (made with any vegetables and with vegetable oil)

Diner:

  • Roasted vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, bell peppers)
  • Meat or fish dishes: with vegetables (excluding carbohydrates like rice, pasta)
  • Salads (made with any vegetables and with vegetable oil)
  • Any of the options from breakfast

Remember that any of these meal choices are interchangeable, and you should eat as much as you want and whenever you feel like doing so. Don’t be afraid to experiment and to try preparing ordinary food in new ways.

If you stick to this system for a while, you’ll be surprised to discover that you’ve dropped several clothes sizes. At the same time you’ll feel hungry less often, will be free of problems with your intestine and/or blood pressure, and be more energetic.

Most importantly, this method can put you in charge of your body and your life.

8 HEALTHY SNACKS FOR YOUR HEALTHY DIET

Swap sweets and biscuits for some healthy snacks this summer!

If like us, you tend to suffer from the 3pm energy slump, here are some healthy snack ideas to help satisfy your cravings…

Blueberries
Blueberries have the highest antioxidant capacity of all fresh fruit - making them a great snack to help boost your immune system. Also, their sweet flavour promises to satisfy your sugar cravings.

Seaweed thins
What we love most about seaweed is that it can do wonders for hair and skin, with vitamins, fats and minerals from the sea that can help strengthen, revitalise and moisturise. Dried seaweed thins are a great alternative to crisps and crackers.

Apple slices with peanut butter
The benefits of eating apples are endless – from teeth whitening and immune-system boosting, to aiding digestion and detoxifying your liver. Try cutting one into slices or wedges and spreading on a light layer of organic peanut butter.

Almonds
Almonds not only satisfy hunger but also regulate cholesterol, strengthen bones, improve complexion and contain nutrients that help boost brain power – among many other things. Try roasting a batch with lemon, salt, Worcestershire sauce and honey to give them an extra kick.

Dark chocolate rice cakes
Rice cakes are low in calories, provide an instant energy boost, aid digestion and are an essential source of vitamin B1. Top them with a layer of rich dark chocolate and you've got a tasty and healthy treat.

Miso soup
Miso soup is a fantastic afternoon snack if you're trying to lose weight – it's filling, comforting and full of beneficial nutrients.

Raw energy bars
There's a huge range of raw energy bars out there that are perfect for a pre-workout snack, or simply to give you that mid-afternoon boost. We love Bounce Balls (available at Holland & Barrett) in every flavour, and snack bars from Purple Balance (available at purplebalance.co.uk) and Aduna Baobab (available at aduna.com).

Dark chocolate pumpkin seeds
Dark chocolate covered pumpkin seeds may be a fattier snack option, but they're a great source of iron, magnesium and zinc, and are sure to satisfy your cocoa craving.

10 Effective Tips to Keep Weight Off For Good

There's no fad diet or miracle pill that will change your body overnight, but losing weight is within your reach—it just might take a little longer than you'd like. Consider this: when you lose weight at a slow and healthy pace, you'll be more likely to keep it off for good. If you're done with the days of yo-yo dieting, these 10 tips are the emotional stepping stones to a healthier lifestyle.

1. Start small: Chances are, if in the past, you’ve tried to change everything all at once, few of your intentions have stuck for good. The answer to staying committed for the long haul is to start small. Make one positive shift every week, instead of overwhelming yourself with a bunch of changes at once.

2. Find healthy foods you love: It’s true! Healthy food that supports weight loss can also be delicious! If you’ve been on a solid sugar- and salt-laden diet for years, it will take a little getting used to. But sooner than you think, those cravings start to dissipate, and clean, natural foods sound much more palatable.

3. Don’t focus on deprivation: According to celebrity trainer Heidi Powell, anytime you deprive yourself of food, or of anything, “all you want is what you can’t have!” Take your mind-set away from sacrifice and start celebrating the fact that you’re cultivating a healthier, happier, more energized life.

4. Find out what fuels you: Whatever your true motivation is, tap into it, and use it. Is it about fitting into a ton of clothes tucked away in the back of your closet? Is it about being lighter and more active, so you can run around outside with your kids? Getting serious about your long-term goals will keep you committed to your lifestyle change.

5. Learn to love consistency: When you have a regular mealtime schedule and fridge full of fresh produce and healthy staples, making choices that support your goals won’t feel like a constant battle. Remember, this isn’t a quick fix — this is a lifestyle change. After a few weeks, these things will feel like second nature.

6. Seek out exercise you enjoy: Heading to the gym shouldn’t feel like pulling teeth. Keep on trying #new group fitness classes, cardio machines, and different styles of #exercise. When you find that one activity that flies by and feels like fun, you’ll know you’ve met your match.

7. Plan ahead for indulgences whenever possible: Occasionally enjoying a sweet treat or special meal out are essential parts of sustainable weight-loss plan. When you know you’re going to want a burger at your BBQ or an ice cream cone when you’re at the beach next weekend, keep your diet extra clean leading up to your special indulgence. It will make the whole experience that much sweeter.

8. Have compassion for yourself: Sometimes, we’re triggered by foods around us, we haven’t planned ahead, and slipups happen. Instead of being hard on yourself after eating a food that’s “off-limits,” forgive yourself, and move on. When you treat yourself with kindness, you’ll be able to bounce back and stay on track. Let’s skip the downward spiral of a whole day (or week) filled with junk food, shall we?

9. Keep setting new goals: As you’re evolving and progressing on your weight-loss journey, your goals have got to keep up! There’s so much to celebrate beyond that number on the scale, and setting specific and personal minigoals like training for a race (or slipping into that pair of old jeans) will help you stay connected.

10. Picture the new you: If you’ve struggled with your weight for a long time, it can be hard to visualize a new, healthier life. You might not be able to find the words right now, but creating a tangible reminder, like a healthy vision board covered in inspirational images, will help you start to recognize what your dreams look like.

And lastly, always choose #true professionals to help you achieving your goals fast and precise:

Enjoy the weekend! And more great, challenging & fun classes!:www.balletbodysculpture.com

The Concept Behind Using Hypnosis For Weight Loss

Weight loss and hypnosis happen to be worlds apart; however, the emerging concept of hypnosis for weight loss is rapidly bringing these two fields close together. Typically, dieting and performing strenuous exercises seems to be the only natural ways in which people can shed the extra pounds. However, people are not always pleased about depriving them of the food they like to eat and straining themselves every single day in the gym. There is no doubt that these are the healthiest and natural ways of losing weight, however, as unbelievable as it might sound, weight loss can also be achieved through hypnosis as well.
Most people are under the misconception that they need to forcing the body if they want to lose weight. However, the truth is that if they want to lose weight quickly then they should start by focusing on their brain. This is what the concept of using hypnosis for weight loss is based on. It is a known fact that everything in the body is controlled by the mind; similarly it is the mind that can help people control that craving they have for foods that can make them fat. There is no doubt that people can go on a diet and follow a workout routine in order to lose weight, however the habit of eating junk food and the cravings can always come back. Therefore to truly succeed at losing weight and continue leading a health life, there is nothing better than to influence the mind through hypnosis.
Weight loss and hypnosis are in no way related to each other, however, if used properly weight loss can become dependant on hypnosis. The state in which an individual’s consciousness is altered such that they go into a trance is known as hypnosis. While it is a centuries old practice, it is, however, also very well known in the present times too. Another thing that many people are mistaken about is that they believed that being hypnotized will directly allow them to lose weight within no time. The truth is that hypnosis simply helps in altering integral behaviors of individuals that help them lose weight. Rather than directly promoting weight loss, hypnosis in fact increases the effectiveness of the regular weight loss methods that are used by the people of today.
When people typically fail at losing weight, it is not the weight loss method that is at fault but the mind of the individual that is not giving them the edge to succeed at achieving weight loss. Through hypnosis however an individual’s mind and perception are altered as a result of which they feel far more encourage to accomplish the task of weight loss. Losing weight is definitely not an easy task and can take a lot of time; however hypnosis can help motivate people into not giving up and carrying on till they manage to shed those unnecessary pounds. So, all those people who are tired of trying and trying again but are simply not able to lose weight, should consider undergoing a weight loss hypnosis session. Therefore, this is how weight loss and hypnosis are interconnected and this is how weight can be lost through hypnosis.
To find out how hypnosis can help you to achieve desired personal goals:

7 Fabulous Post Work Foods Helping Your Lose Weight!

Looking for some good post workout foods for fat loss? If you’re trying to lose weight and fat, it comes down to more than #exercising. Nutritional supplementation, especially after working out, is essential to burning fat and putting on some lean muscle mass. Instead of reaching for an extra-large pizza or giant fudge brownie sundae, remember that working out doesn’t give you license to eat whatever you want. Try these top post workout foods for fat loss that can actually help speed up your metabolism.

1. Eggs

Eggs are by far one of the best post workout foods for fat loss. They’re cheap, readily available, and can be prepared about a million different ways. You can scramble your eggs, poach them, or even fold them into a veggie omelet. Eggs are also packed with loads of protein, which is definitely something you want after a hard session at the gym. If you swear by eating only egg whites, remember that the yolk of the egg contains most of the vitamins, minerals, and protein.

3. Chicken Breast

If you’re trying to lose weight or cut fat, chicken is another lean protein source that should be a staple in your diet. Muscles need protein to fuel your recovery, meaning you’ll get stronger in less time. With 20 grams of protein and practically no fat, chicken breasts are a great post workout food to help you shed excess weight. Like eggs, you can make chicken in a bunch of different ways too. Bake it, braise it, lightly pan fry it in a little coconut oil—the possibilities are endless.

3. Cottage Cheese

Sometimes, you just don’t feel like cooking after working out. And that’s totally okay! When you’re having a lazy day after working out and just want to hang out, cottage cheese is a great post workout food. A ½ cup serving contains a whopping 13 grams of protein, making it comparable to two eggs. Better yet, cottage cheese doesn’t require any preparation. Just spoon into a dish and eat!

4. Avocados

Who would have thought that fat could #burn fat? When it comes to avocados, this is completely true. We used to think that eating too much fat was the reason for weight gain. But studies actually show that moderate healthy fat consumption can actually boost our body’s ability to burn fat, specifically belly fat! Adding a little avocado to your salad, eggs, or grilled chicken might be just what you need to satisfy your appetite and help you shed fat.

5. Sweet Potatoes

Most health and fitness gurus shy away from eating loads of carbohydrates. But I think the right combination of protein AND carbs is what actually leads to more fat loss. The key to eating carbs after working out is picking a carb that is loaded with fiber to prevent spikes in blood sugar. Sweet potatoes are a fantastic post workout food. Their high vitamin A content also makes them an excellent part of any healthy diet.

6. Oatmeal

Sweet potatoes aren’t the only carb that has fiber. Play your cards right and you can find a ton of other healthy carbs to fuel recovery and help nourish your body after working out. If you like to work out in the morning, oatmeal is a fantastic choice. It’s high in fiber and low in refined sugar. Jazz it up with nuts, dried fruit, a drizzle of raw honey, or any other healthy topping that floats your boat.

7. Leafy Greens

Few people talk about eating leafy greens after a #workout. But leafy greens like kale, Swiss chard, and spinach are loaded with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to help you recover at a faster pace. Greens aren’t very high in calories, so you’ll most likely need to pair them with some protein for a truly satisfying post workout meal. Otherwise they’re a great post workout food to ease muscle soreness and keep you healthy.

Proper nutrition is one of the most important parts to a consistent exercise regimen, but few people know exactly how to fuel their bodies pre and post workout. What are some of your favorite things to eat after exercising?:)

Learn To Get Into Shape & Stay Fit - Tips From International Ballet & Fitness Experts

Looking to shape up for the Spring/Summer season? Ballet Body Sculpture is sharing our best fitness and diet tips with you.

1. Be honest with yourself about the body you want.

Have a real conversation about where you’re at with your health. You need to find exercises with some sort of strategy behind them, a strategy for how you want your body to look and perform. You should be taking the type of exercise  you like the results that is able for you to achieve. For example if you like how  ballet dancer's body looks like, you should choose the workout that helps you to exercise in the way the true professionals do. Similarly, if you want to look like a bodybuilder, then you’re not the best candidate for Ballet Body Sculpture classes. Get real with yourself. Understand how you move. For help finding your best personal fitness strategy, use our new streaming online classes or sign up for a private tuition session.

2. Exercise five to seven days a week.

If you don’t work out one day, you’re going to stay the same or gain weight. It’s fine if you want to give yourself a day to rest, but know that as long as you’re not exercising in a way that’s invasive to your body, you can exercise seven days a week. Some people wonder, “How long do I have to commit to this exercise program?” or “How long until I can just do this two to three days a week?” That’s not reality. We need to get used to taking care of our bodies. To put it in perspective: We spend five minutes a day brushing our teeth, and teeth are tiny in comparison to the rest of our bodies. So if teeth take up five minutes of your day, the rest of your body can take up 30 to 60 minutes.

3. Diet and exercise go hand in hand.

The biggest mistake my clients make is saying, “I need to lose weight before I work out.” You never want to just “diet” weight off before you start working it off. Exercise is part of it! If you have weight to lose, you have to train yourself to be good at exercise. And diet is definitely important, but it’s not about calorie restriction — it’s more about eating whole and organic foods. You should enjoy foods that are life-giving instead of damaging to your body. Avoid processed foods, and include foods that as are as close to nature as possible, as well as greens and superfoods like mulberries, including even organic chocolate.

4. A good playlist can be the key to a good workout.

Working out to music is something that people need to do. Remix from the classical music will help you to de-stress and concentrate on your body more, forgetting all the worries or daly routines. It works as a great meditation for your mind, whilst your body is fully engaged.

Have fun creating the best body for yourself! Invest a bit of time and effort, be selective, organised and the results will come very quickly!

HOW TO REDUCE SUGAR INTAKE & CARB CRAVING WITH NATURAL FOOD

http://www.balletbodysculpture.com

Life is sweet… isn’t it? Unfortunately, many of us take that way to literally, consuming nearly our #body weight in sugar every year. Real sugar in and of itself is not bad. It is the quantity of sugar consumed that is the real problem. Although some research points to sugar addiction, most of us just like the taste of these goodies, and when they are readily available it’s hard to say no. Fear not, learning how to reduce sugar intake is as easy as understanding the science of sugar and following some simple tips.

The Science of Sugar

Our #bodies and brains need sugar in the form of glucose to survive. However, our bodies only need about two teaspoons of sugar in the blood stream at any one time. Unfortunately, the quantities most people consume, puts them at risk for obesity, high blood pressure, cancer, liver disease, diabetes and heart disease.

Here are some practical things you can do to help reduce sugar cravings.

Avoid processed food. Many processed foods often contain harmful sugars such as high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). HFCS masks an important satiation hormone in our bodies called leptin. When the body doesn’t recognize that leptin is present, the brain doesn’t get the message that the body is full; so we continue to eat.

Eat naturally sweet real food. Fruits, vegetables and some spices are naturally sweet. Nature provides us with all of the sugar we require. The more real food you eat, the more you will be able to taste the natural sugars contained in these nutritious alternatives. Fruits and vegetables are also high in fiber, which allows the body to slowly absorb the natural sugars they contain, which in turn provides a steady stream of energy. Try them raw, lightly cooked (less than 3 min), or even frozen. Look for richly colored produce, which contain higher amounts of antioxidants that are naturally anti-inflammatory.

Be mindful of your emotions. Many of us are emotional eaters, and this is especially true this time of year when emotions are running high. Sugar can act as a natural anti-depressant as it has a direct effect on a neurotransmitter in the brain called dopamine. When you eat sugar, dopamine is released causing a bit of a sugar high. The problem is that it is short lived and when dopamine levels drop, you may crave more sugar to regain the feeling that high levels of dopamine provide.

Skip the artificial sweeteners. New studies suggest that artificial sweeteners can make us crave more sugar. Research has showed that consuming artificial sweeteners it actually increases blood sugar levels more than natural sugar.

The best way overall to kick the sugar habit is to just eat real food. Nature has provided us with all of the sugar our bodies need in fruits, vegetables, grains and legumes. You may find that the more you eat real food, the less you will crave the added sugar. The next time you get that sweet tooth, reach for a delicious apple or a crispy carrot. Overtime, you will begin to notice that your sweet tooth isn’t quite as sweet as it used to be.

Remember sugar is a great quick energy source, so why not to burn it #exercising? Try something unique and healthy - ballet exercise based workout class, to burn out those extra sugar calories:)
